Why do I keep getting pop-up ads on my computer?

  1. Determine the Ad Sources
  2. Disable pop ups in your web browser settings
    • Chrome: Settings > Advanced > Privacy > Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects
    • Safari: Preferences > Websites > Pop-up windows
    • Internet Explorer: Tools > Pop-up blocker > Turn on pop-up blocker
    • Firefox: Options > Content > Block pop-up windows
  3. Install an ad blocker
  4. Check and reset your browser homepage URL
  5. Check your security software settings and ensure your anti-malware is up to date
  6. Check your installed programs for any suspicious toolbars or software
