1. Check the touchpad settings in Windows or Mac to ensure the touchpad is enabled. 
  
- For Windows, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
 - For Mac, chose System Preferences > Trackpad.
 
- In Device Manager, check for any warnings or conflicts.
 - If there are conflicts, find your touchpad settings and update the device driver.
 
- Navigate to Power Options in Control Panel.
 - Ensure that the power settings are optimized for laptop performance.
 
- Ensure that all connections are firmly in place.
