If your laptop is not recognizing peripherals, there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
- Check the hardware device is properly connected and powered on.
 - Check for and install available driver updates through Windows Update.
 - Try connecting the hardware device to a different USB port.
 - Verify that the hardware device is compatible with your version of Windows.
 - Update all other drivers on your computer.
 - Uninstall and reinstall the driver for the hardware device.
 - Disable USB power and enable it again.
 - Reboot the computer.
 - Try a different cable.
